The small city of Winfield is located in Henry County, Iowa, about 15 miles northeast of Mt. Pleasant. Winfield houses a modest population of about 1,100 people and covers just a little more than one square mile of land.
Winfield was first laid out in 1852, then grew with the arrival of a railroad line in the 1870s. The city was then officially established in 1882.
